How long does carpet cleaning take to dry?
Drying time depends on the carpet type, pile density, and whether specialty treatments like subsurface extraction were needed. For average carpets, expect 4 to 8 hours of drying time.
What carpet cleaning method do you use?
We use multiple cleaning methods depending on the fabric and the situation. Most of our work is hot water extraction using truck-mounted equipment. We also have portable units for high-end condos or locations where hoses can’t reach, and we use low-moisture systems for maintenance cleaning in both residential and commercial settings.
Do you move furniture before cleaning?
We move light furniture such as end tables and nightstands. We do not move large or heavy furniture. We recommend clearing the area of breakables and small items before your appointment.

Do you offer rug pickup and delivery?

Do you clean oriental and wool rugs?
Yes. We are a WoolSafe Approved Service Provider and specialize in authentic rug washing for oriental, wool, silk, and handmade rugs. All area rugs are cleaned at our facility, not in your home.
Is professional carpet cleaning safe for pets and children?
Yes. Our cleaning solutions and methods are safe for both pets and children. We can discuss any specific concerns during your free estimate.
What certifications does Lovejoy Carpet Care hold?
Lovejoy Carpet Care is an IICRC Certified Firm. Our team holds certifications including CCT (Carpet Cleaning Technician), UPH (Upholstery Cleaning Technician), OCT (Odor Control Technician), and AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician). Our owner is an IICRC Master Textile Technician, the highest achievement in the textile cleaning industry. Do you clean upholstery and furniture?
Yes. We clean sofas, chairs, sectionals, and other upholstered furniture using methods appropriate for each fabric type.
How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?
Most manufacturers recommend professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months. Homes with pets, children, or allergies may benefit from cleaning every 6 to 12 months.
Do you offer fabric protection?
Yes. We apply professional-grade fabric protector to carpets, rugs, and upholstery to help resist future stains and spills.
What should I do if I spill something on my carpet?
Blot the spill immediately with a clean white cloth. Do not rub. Avoid using store-bought spot cleaners, as they can set stains or damage fibers. Call us for guidance on tough spills.
How do I prepare for my carpet cleaning appointment?
Pick up small items, toys, and breakables from the floor. Move any fragile or valuable items off furniture. We will handle light furniture like end tables and nightstands.
Do you clean hardwood floors?
Yes. We offer professional hardwood floor cleaning using both low-moisture and deep cleaning methods, depending on the condition and finish of your floors. We also provide wax removal for hardwood floors that need refinishing preparation or a fresh start.
Do you clean tile and grout?
Yes. We use hot water extraction and pressure washing to clean tile and grout. We offer alkaline cleaning for routine jobs, acid washing for deeper cleaning or haze removal, and grout sealing to protect your grout after cleaning. We also offer epoxy color sealing to restore or change the color of your grout lines.
Do you offer commercial carpet cleaning?
Yes. We clean carpets and floors for offices, restaurants, assisted living facilities, and other commercial properties throughout the MetroWest Massachusetts area. We offer after-hours service for maintenance accounts and long-term commercial clients to minimize disruption to your business.
