From Acre-Sized Estate Homes To Newer Luxury Builds — Dover Carpet Cleaning By IICRC Master Textile Certified Technicians.

Dover homes ask more of a carpet cleaner than the average town. Acre-sized lots, Colonial Revival and Tudor estates with original wool runners, newer luxury builds with high-end synthetic broadloom — the fiber here ranges across a century of craftsmanship. Truck-mounted hot-water extraction, IICRC Master Textile Certified (the highest tier of fiber-cleaning credential), 300+ five-star reviews. We serve all of Dover — the estates off Centre and Dedham Street, the homes along Smith Hill, properties near Caryl Park and Noanet Woodlands, and the newer builds toward the Sherborn line.

The Highest Tier In Fiber Cleaning

What IICRC Master Textile Certified Actually Means.

Most carpet cleaners hold the entry-level certification — basic Carpet Cleaning Technician (CCT). The IICRC has progressively harder credentials above that. Master Textile Cleaner sits at the top. It takes years to earn, requires multiple advanced courses, and matters specifically for the kind of fiber Dover homes are built on — antique wool broadloom, hand-knotted Orientals, silk, and high-end natural blends.

1
CCT
Carpet Cleaning Tech
Entry-level. Synthetic broadloom and standard extraction. Most cleaners stop here.
2
UFT
Upholstery & Fabric
Adds fabric chemistry. Different fibers, different cleaning approaches per piece.
3
RCT/CCMT
Carpet & Wool Specialty
Wool-specific training. Lanolin preservation, dye stability, natural-fiber chemistry.
★
MTC
Master Textile Cleaner
Top of the ladder. Multiple advanced courses plus years of in-field experience.

What That Certification Changes About Your Job

  • Right pre-treatment per fiber. Synthetic broadloom takes alkaline pre-conditioner. Wool needs pH-neutral, wool-safe chemistry. Master Textile training is what tells you which is which on sight.
  • pH-neutral chemistry on wool. Standard alkaline cleaners strip the lanolin out of wool and dull the pile. We use wool-safe formulations only.
  • Low-moisture extraction on antiques. Older padding and jute backing shrink if they get soaked. We control how much water goes down and how much comes back up.
  • Hand-tool work on stairs and edges. Powered wands don’t fit stair-edge geometry. Hand tools do, and they don’t over-wet the binding or the stair pad.
  • Stain chemistry by category. Protein stains (food, pet accidents) need enzymes. Tannin stains (wine, coffee) need acid-side chemistry. Oil-based stains need solvents. Master Textile training is knowing what to reach for and when.
  • Edge and seam protection. Powered wands can fray wall-edge binding and stair-tread bindings over time. We use hand-tool techniques that keep the edge installation intact on antique runners and high-end broadloom.

The Dover Housing Mix

Estate-Era Antiques And Newer Luxury Builds — Both Need The Right Touch.

Dover is one of the most architecturally varied towns we serve. On one side: acre-sized estate properties along Centre Street, Dedham Street, and Springdale Avenue — Colonial Revivals, Tudor Revivals, French Provincial homes, and ranch-style estates, many with original wool broadloom and wool runners that have been on the stairs for thirty or forty years. On the other side: newer luxury builds with high-end synthetic broadloom, deeper plush in the bedrooms, and finished basements that get heavy use.

Different homes ask different questions of a carpet cleaning company. Antique wool can’t be over-wetted and can’t take alkaline chemistry. Newer synthetic plush needs hot extraction and the right pre-treatment to keep traffic lanes from coming back dull. Our lead tech is IICRC Master Textile Certified — the highest-tier credential in fiber cleaning — and we’re WoolSafe Approved, so we’re calibrated for both ends of the spectrum. Family-owned for over 25 years, and a 30-minute drive from Milford via Routes 109 and 27.

  • Truck-mounted 200°F+ extraction for every fiber type
  • Pre-treatment chemistry matched to age, fiber, and soil level
  • Hand tools on stairs, edges, and antique padding to prevent over-wetting
  • Dry in 4–8 hours, walk on it the same day
What We Clean

Every Carpet, Every Dover Neighborhood.

From wool runners in Colonial Revival estates off Centre Street to wall-to-wall in newer luxury builds near Noanet Woodlands — we’re calibrated for all of it.

L

Living & Family Rooms

The hardest-working carpet in any Dover home. Deep extraction, hand-tool work on traffic patterns, grooming in the direction of the pile.

S

Stairs & Hallways

More wear per square foot than anywhere else. Hand tools, careful edge work, no over-wetting on stair pads.

W

Wool & Antique Carpet

Dover’s Colonial Revival and Tudor estates often have original wool broadloom and runners. We’re WoolSafe-approved and use pH-neutral chemistry that protects natural fibers.

P

Pet Accidents & Odor

UV scan, enzyme treatment, and pad-level decontamination through our dedicated Pet Treatment package — add-on, not included in basic cleaning.

T

Traffic Lanes & Family Rooms

The walk paths from kitchen to family-room sofa get hammered. Truck-mount extraction + targeted pre-treatment is how we get them looking even with the rest of the room.

B

Basements & Bonus Rooms

Newer Dover builds often have finished basements with humidity challenges. We handle musty odors and prevent moisture trapping.

Dover, Specifically

We Work Around Decorators, Designers, And The Way Your House Actually Runs.

A lot of Dover homes are professionally decorated and professionally maintained. There’s art on the walls. There’s a designer who picked the paint and the trim. There’s a housekeeper or estate manager who knows where everything goes. Carpet cleaning has to fit into that — not disrupt it. We’ve been doing this for over 25 years, and the way we work in Dover reflects what the household actually needs.

In practice, that means: arriving when you tell us, not when we feel like it. Coordinating directly with your designer or estate manager if you’d rather not be the middle person. Using corner protectors on door jambs and trim where our hose runs through the house. Working around art, antiques, and breakables without needing to be reminded. Taking shoes off, leaving the home the way we found it. If you have a regular cleaning crew, we coordinate with them on timing. We’re a 30-minute drive from Milford via Routes 109 and 27, and we book 1–2 weeks out for routine work — longer for whole-house jobs.

Our Process

What Happens When We Arrive at Your House

Four steps, every job. The work is methodical because that's how you get a consistent result on both the antique colonial and the new build down the street.

1

Walk-Through

We look at every room together. You point out the problem spots; we point out things you might not have noticed. Fiber tested, scope confirmed, quote firm before we touch anything.

2

Pre-Conditioning

Pre-treatment agent matched to your carpet, your fiber, and your soil load is applied with dwell time to break down oils and lift dry soil out of the backing.

3

Hot-Water Extraction

Truck-mounted 200°F+ water delivered under controlled pressure, immediately extracted. Everything the pre-treatment loosened comes back into the truck.

4

Final Walk & Groom

We groom the pile, set air movers in high-traffic areas, and walk the job with you. Anything you're not happy with, we fix on the spot.

What Dover Customers Ask Us

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance do I need to book?
Standard booking for Dover is 1–2 weeks out. We work around the morning rush hour, so mid-morning weekday slots fill up first. For pet emergencies, floods, or pre-closing real estate timelines, call us directly at (508) 922-7379 — we'll do our best to fit you in same- or next-day.
Can you really get out the dark traffic lanes, or are they permanent?
In about 90% of cases, what looks permanent is deep embedded soil — and it lifts out with truck-mounted extraction at 200°F+. The other 10% is true fiber wear (the pile is physically abraded down), and no amount of cleaning will fix that. We can usually tell which one you have during the walk-through and we'll be straight with you.
How long does drying take?
Most carpets are dry to the touch within 4–8 hours depending on humidity and airflow. Light foot traffic with clean socks is fine immediately. We recommend waiting until fully dry before putting furniture back on or letting pets back into the room.
I have a dog/cat that's had accidents. How does that work?
Pet accidents are addressed through our separate Pet Treatment service — it's an add-on to the basic cleaning, not included in it. The Pet Treatment covers UV inspection to locate contamination, enzyme treatment to break down urine at the molecular level, and (in saturated cases) injection treatment for the pad or subfloor. Basic carpet cleaning alone won't remove pet odor or fully address urine contamination, which is why we recommend the Pet Treatment package any time pets are part of the household. We'll diagnose what level you need during the walk-through and quote it transparently before we start — no surprises.
How often should I get the carpets cleaned?
Manufacturer warranties typically specify every 12–18 months. For Dover homes with wool runners and antique broadloom, every 12 months keeps lanolin and natural soil from building up. For homes near Caryl Park, Noanet Woodlands, or Peters Reservation on the Charles — where mud and trail dirt come home regularly — every 9–12 months on the high-traffic synthetic carpet keeps it from accumulating the kind of buildup that's hard to reverse.
Do you move furniture?
We move small and medium-light pieces as part of the job — coffee tables, dining chairs, lamps, end tables. We don't move heavy upright pieces (sofas, beds, bureaus) because of the floor risk, but we clean right up to them. We do ask you to clear breakables and personal items.
What does it cost?
Pricing varies by square footage, room count, fiber type, and condition. Most Dover single-family jobs fall in a fairly tight range, and you get an exact written quote during the free estimate — no upsells at the truck. Call (508) 922-7379 or use the contact form to get yours.

What Customers Say About Our Carpet Cleaning.

★★★★★
"I had a family room carpet with a hefty stain from food spill. I had another company try to clean it but the stain remained. This was my last effort to remove it before I had the room recarpeted. Lovejoy removed the stain and so far it has not returned. Great professional service."

"Lovejoy came out same day to look at the job. They sent me a quote thru email within an hour. They were prompt in scheduling the job. Came right out when they said. The guy was very friendly, he went right to work. At the end, the carpet, couch and chair look great. I would highly recommend."

★★★★★
"Communication was excellent. Scheduled an appointment to see if carpet was salvageable or having to tear up and replace. Bryan gave us a fair quote for the carpet and a sofa. Bryan & Paul showed up on time and completed the job fast and efficiently. The carpet was a huge improvement."
